Sean McDermott opted to keep Allen on the field, and the payoff was massive. Allen went back to pass, pump-faked to the running back, and saw some open daylight between the right guard and right tackle. He weaved in and out of five tackle attempts before colliding with Kansas City safety Bryan Cook as he plunged into the end zone.
Confidence is soaring, but the San Francisco 49ers are a better team than their 5-6 record, 4th in the NFC West, would suggest. However, San Francisco’s star quarterback Brock Purdy has been injured, and whether he plays or not on Sunday night, his performance could be impacted during the game.
